Forgeworld Greater Demon of Khorne

Greater Demon?  More like super friggin' huge demon of resin doom!

It must have taken weeks just to get this thing ready to prime.  At least it felt that way.  And, being every bit the foolish but evil genius, decided it would be a great idea to do reflected lava effects on the underside of the gigantic wings.  Yes, I paid for that idea.  I was able to get some neat little demon faces on the armor here and there, which was fun.  There were several other details, like the face, that were nicely sculpted and I enjoyed painting them as well.  The wings had lots of deep cuts in the sculpting, and that made them less fun to paint, even without the reflected light.

I had to paint each wing BEFORE I could attach it, since they were so huge, and the cavities so deep.  That meant I had to do a lot of pinning and green stuff over lots of painted areas, which always makes you feel great!  The I had to control the monstrosity to paint those areas without messing up everything else.

I believe that this placed 4th at Games Day in the Open Category in 2010.

These shots give you an unhindered view of the base.  I threw in some IG bits, and did loads of lava effects.  Between that and the marble, it was a lot of work, but it certainly made everything tie intogether very well.  It also made a very nice and stable base for game play!
