Switching to the Interior Decorator hat...

Photobucket

Well, a change of plans today.  There was a request by GW to have photos of the June 3oth winners for their own blog, so I needed to spend some time in the tomb.  Some of you may remember where I last left the tomb interior, waiting for the final decorations.

Here are the 3D items I wanted for the inside, along with some pieces for the big chariot unit...

Once those were all painted and glued into place, it was time to start painting some of the designs inside:Photobucket

As with everything else in the lower level, it was very difficult to get at it!

I had to do some serious contortions to get my hand in place with the brush.

I attempted to repeat as many motifs from the miniatures and the bases as I could onto the walls.  They had to be larger in scale than I would have liked, since it's going to be very hard for people to see them in the first place.

While 50% of the people who look at this will probably never notice all this work on the inside, I can feel satisfied that I have been giving it a try!

There is still more to do on this level, but it should be good enough to take those display pictures that were requested.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. That scarab isn't a little tribute to Journey's "Departure" is it?

    1. Thanks for the kind words!!!

This board is a particularly tricky thing to photograph. Not only do you ahve lots of things going on with each level, there are the lights. I certainly look forward to any images that you get! I know my cameras are designed to do ceratin things, but shooting this display is not one of them!

      See you there!
